Mine had a spacer for a shimano 10speed cassette.

Pro 4 hubs come with a wider (11 speed road) freehub and a spacer; “newer” (40t engagement) Pro 2s can be retrofitted with it as well.

You are probably missing a 2mm spacer.

    This ^.

No idea why Hope have chosen to confuse the issue by sizing the pro4 standard free hub for a road cassette.

    In general:

Pro2Evo freehubs will all take Shimano 10 or 11sp MTB cassettes without spacers.
Pro2Evo40T freehubs (gold) as above, (silver) with additional pockets machined at the bottom of the splines will fit an 11sp ROAD cassette as intended by Shimano but will need a spacer for any MTB cassette.
    Pro4 freehub as silver Pro2Evo40T.

Hope reference doc here. If there’s a single thing that annoys me about disc brakes making it to the road, it’s this. (/rantoff)
