Ive always had braided lines. Im now looking at replacing my x2 brakes with some e4’s and wondering if there is any benefit apart from looking bling?

Do you need a better reason than bling? That’s why I have them on most of my bikes.

Nope, just bling. Even hope say so. As above, nowt wrong with bling though.

yup, Hope are nice and honest that there is no performance difference as the standard plastic hoses are pretty good.

Apart from the bling the benefits are more resistant to damage (handy if you stuff the bike in the car or crash a lot) and they are more flexible as the outer coating is a softer polymer.

Braided hoses do seem to be less rigid than the standard type. That can mean less frame rub.

I’ve used them on a couple of set-ups and can feel no performance improvement whatsoever

Braided hose should also be stronger / more resistant to crash damage but its all pretty marginal. One of my bikes has braided front andplastic rear hoses – as scotroutes says its hard to feel any difference
