So as I’ve posted before, I have always loved the feel of my Hopes but even when newly bled and bite point adjust wound fully the they pull to quite close to the bars.

Mate made me feel pretty stupid the other night when he simply moved out the reach dial and all of a sudden what I would call the bite point moves away from the bars and as a result the brakes feel much more powerful.

So PSA – I think these adjustments are misnamed by Hope – reach adjust affects the bite point as well as lever reach.
Bite point adjust affects how hard or soft the bite is at that point not so much where it starts to bite in the lever travel.

Yes. Yhey work together to move the lever postion and “bite point”. Or more accurately the “bite point” should be veiwed as “preload”. If you watch the lever and master cylinder positions when adjusting you will see the master cylinder “taking up the dead travel at the beginning of the stroke on the lever”

    Hard to explain without video.
