My front hose has a surface nick in the outer casing. Appears shallow and no fluid coming out and brakes working fine. I do notice when it gets wet though that it soaks the outer protective casing to a darker colour, which dries out. anything to worry about ? No sign of any stainless inner poking out, so can't see it being a problem. cheers

No, it's fine. As you say, it's stainless steel under there. If it bothers you, wrap a bit of clear tape over it (or whatever colour suits)
