    Just fitted a steel job with the GXP inserts.
    Doesn’t spin too freely.
    Is this normal?
    Feels like there is friction.

    Could be the grease in the bearings and/or seals? It’ll still be smooth (no grinding, roughness) if this is the case.

    Take it for a few miles and see if it loosens up? I have a couple and they spin freely..

    You may have overtightened the cranks against the bearing covers (easily done) when fitting the non-drive side crank. This installation video from Hope Tech might help:

    Doesn’t spin too freely.

    I rarely get more than a rotation or two out of Hollowtech type bearings – they don’t really do ‘freely’ like square taper used to.

    As long as it’s smooth and not binding you should be ok.
