Got a bike with a 3.5K replacement value, another with a 1.5k RP value & a £600 road bike. Would like to insure the buildings & contents with bike cover but am finding it a bit of a minefield!

Any suggestions & ideas of what I should be paying?

Nationwide. They cover up to 3000 or 3500 (can’t remember which) and don’t need the bike specifying on the policy. Needs to be in a locked area though, garage or shed.

I got some quotes recently via confused/moneysupermarket etc and even though I specified my bike and other bits as listed items some of the returned quotes didn’t seem to pick this up – no wonder they were so cheap.

I use Sheilas wheels (!), 😯 etc… 4 named bikes, £3k, £1.5k, £1.2k and £650, which came to £250 buildings and contents. The best quote i got by a mile…and my M+S renewal was over £600, despite never having made a claim of any kind in 6 years with them.

NFU. Only had to spec those over 5k.
