  • Hollowtech II (Road) – Do I need spacers?

I’m about to install a Hollowtech II BB to my will-it-ever-get-built cross frame. It’s a 68mm shell, Ultegra BB (new), Tiagra Crank (from the classifieds) and clamp-on mech. The Park site suggests that I may need spacers, which I don”t have, but it seems to be a bit MTB specific.

Anyone care to shed any light?

    Excellent, ta.

Oh yeah, and the crank arm bolts – snug, tight or right-tight? No I don’t have a torque wrench.

I think you may need spacers-have you got the instructions-it tells you on them.
The bolts, nice and tight, but not right-tight!

The only spacer you may need is one that goes between the left hand crank arm and the BB if it is a triple (FC-4503 or FC-3403) chainset. No BB spacers are required.
