Anyone else got this? I have a new set of Shimano MT15 wheels. In the side of both the front and rear rim is a small hole approximately 3mm in diameter. I can’t work out why it’s there or what it’s for.

    Any thoughts?

Not 3mm but my road wheels have a small hole in the rim, maybe 1mm, always assumed it was something to do with the giving an indication of how thick the material was to make it obvious when the rim was going to be worn down. no idea why it’d be on disk rims though.

Got them on mine too so don’t worry! Probably hiding a secret camera or something!

It lets the water out. Mine has two or three (MT65’s) you will get seepage through the nipples 🙄 into the void between the inner and outer skins of the rim.

Mine has them too. Breathing hole for tiny creatures living in the rim?

Great, thanks for putting my mind at rest! I had queried it with the retailer who couldn’t confirm exactly what it was, other than to say all their MT15 and MT65 wheels had them.
