Kronenbourg Blanc is the next best thing, and marginally more available on draught in the UK.

Hoegaarden is an acquired taste but one I have managed to develop 🙂

I would never describe it as sweet though – quite the opposite.
One of the benefits of being here in Belgium is if you don't like one beer then we have a few thousand more you can choose from…

I get more pissed per pint on hoegaarden than anything else. It's crazy wappy juice, almost like skunk!

Lovelly beer, although I must say I wasn't convinced after my first pint. Perhaps the taste will grow on you?

Yep – the alcohol-by-volume does not represent the true making-you-fall-over power of this stuff. It's not that alcoholic, but it acts like it is.

I had 2 bottles of Leffee once on a ferry crossing, it finished me off. I'm a cheap date and a lightweight but I can ride uphill forever! 😀
