We got another DJ who did the first HtN who will do us free in return for a bit of advice for some event that he is putting together next year.

We had our biggest preview ride yet.

We’ve finally bought our tape and numbers.

Arranged emergency 4×4 access.

Finalised medical cover.

Got the office trainee to make me 171 directional arrows.

Well, we’re finally in profit so this stupid event isn’t going to cost us any money! Thanks to all those who signed up a few weeks ago when we really needed you. Thanks also to all those who have left it right to the last minute causing numerous sleepless nights and the further greying of what little hair we’ve got left. When we said we were OK we were still actually several hundred pounds short but we thought that we would risk it!

We’ve still got places left, but anybody who signs up after today will get a punch in the chops off this lady because of the stress that you have put us through.

Will there be food available after the race is over this time? At HTN 1 I was saved from starvation by some friendly folks camped next to me.

That is just a sample. I was speaking to them earlier and it will be along the lines of pasta, chilli, curry maybe. Whatever, it's good stuff and it doesn't cost a bomb.

She's very passionate about what she does is Rachael from The Giddy Kipper and isn't in it for the money. Ask her to flip 200 burgers and she'll cry and/or slice you in two.

She is also a fire eater and may be bringing her stuff. 😯

Will there be enough available after the racing through, last time the people who finished riding on the last lap found there was no food left. And the queues for breakfast on the Sunday were *horrendous*

Just had a bit of an afternoon…

The DJ asked for an 18kva generator because his sensitive equipment can cut out due to fluctuations in power from a smaller unit. The bar man was going to bring a 2kva because all he needs is to run a handful of lights and a lager cooler (for the ladies as he repeatedly says). An 18kva will cost us around £300 to hire!

So, we were briefly without a DJ.

However, the DJ can run off the mains because there is no troublesome fluctuation in supply and has a 100m extension lead Therefore he can plug into the campsite admin block.

The bar man is bringing two life sized fibreglass aliens as they are part of his bar 😯 . I told the DJ this who said “Fantastic, I’ll wear my Predator suit.” 😯 😯

Weekend menu for Hit the North 2:

Friday evening – pasta party! 7 pm onwards
Fusili pasta with meat ragu sauce
Penne pasta with tomato, sweet basil & mozzerella sauce

Saturday & Sunday breakfast 7 am to 11 am
Breakfast rolls (egg, bacon, sausage)
Viking Porridge

Saturday lunch
Pig inna bun (hot roast pork with sage & onion stuffing and apple sauce)
Falafel wraps (v) (served with salad, tzatsiki & salsa in naan bread or deli wrap)

Saturday evening (6.30 – 9 pm)
Mexican chilli & rice
Pork goulash & rice
Chickpea tangine & spiced couscous
Vegetarian goulash & rice

Saturday late evening post (or during) drinking vittles
Sausage & mash with onion gravy
veggetarian lincolnshire style sausages & mash with onion gravy.

Hot & cold drinks for sale throughout the weekend as well as chocolate bars, cakes & cereal bars.
