Do you think there is a market for a high end balance bike,

Or what you be max spend on such a beast

First question is not how much, but ‘why would somebody want a high end or niche balance bike”?

Outside of special needs, or the rare adult who wants to learn to ride a bike I can see no reason to buy one.

Off road (is that what you were thinking of?) they’d be very limited, not least due to having bum on saddle all the time- you’d need to add foot pegs, and that destroys one of the main points of a balance bike- it’s narrow profile means you can scoot along easily.

Besides, aren’t you a bit late to the party 😉

Unless it was made of living wood to grow with the child, probably not.

islabikes already have the expensive/high end/niche balancebike market wrapped up.

IMO it makes more difference whether an 18mth old kids naturally into it than what make it is.
We had 2 2yr olds skooting around at the skate park on balance bikes this weekend. both cost less than half an Isla one weighed less than an Isla the others probably double, made **** all difference to either of them they were both loving it.

Personally think theres plenty of choice already – Giant, and various other big companies make ’em, then theres Isla bikes and you can even get them in wood – would that count as a niche ?

For what its worth we are getting the grandson one of these – think the approx.£100 price tag is about right – don’t think you’d want/need to spend any more

Kokuas are much tricker than Islabikes!

Look, suspension… adjustable ride height (if you trim the elastomer)…one-piece bar/stem.. QR seatpost clamp…can also be upgraded with a front brake (long drop dual pivots fit) and coloured alloy bits 😉
