Looks like the bulbs gone in my lumi hid’s which is a shame, cos after 7 years I cant really complain, but they are 80 quid to replace and I’m skint till month after next 🙁 … are there are cheaper bulbs anywhere that will do the same job?

Cheaper car HID bulbs are easy to source via Ebay – maybe have a look at one of the Ebay shops to see if smaller ones are available?

best bet is to looka t one of the ‘convert my Lum’s to LED’ threads on here and do that.

trout will do it for you, I’d imagine.

Most of the lamps came from a single supplier (welch ayln medical lighting specialists if I remember correctly)

I doubt you’ll find any cheaper as the market for hid’s was relatively small and other than lupine and I think cateeye everyone used the same lamp (mr11)

Haha, lack of patience and also a knowing glance that once a thread drops off the first page its gone forever 😉

T1000 I found their site but not sure how to identify the lamp, any clues? looks like it could be right…

I have some LED’s too but hate throwing gear away, especially good gear.

I remember having the same problem a couple of years ago and whilst it was possible to get a (very expensive) bulb the risk was that a new bulb would cause the (very expensive) ballast to die, followed shortly by the battery.

I went for a Lumi Led system with a Smudge battery. I would still go to Smudge but there are loads of cheapy bright lights about.
