Which should I get 40mm rise or 20mm rise?

It will be a easton ea50 bar but I don’t know which rise option, it will go on an 18″ piglet.

Pros and Cons anyone?

Or, whatever will suit the rest of the build, your body shape & type of riding.

I prefer to run only the one 5mm spacer under the bar and a 20mm rise (in the bar). No rise to the stem… that’s rather than having more spacers under the stem. Seems to feel better somehow…

What will your spacer set up be OP?

It all depends on how low you need the bars.

tbh most people go for lower rise bars and adjust the height with the stem spacers or a stem with a bit of rise. I run 20mm Havocs with a zero rise Haven stem and have the spacers set to suit me.

But obviously if your steerer is not long enough or you will end up having loads of spacers (look silly) then go with riser bars.

But personally it is a no-brainer for me and I would get 20mm as structurally flatter bars make more sense.

Unexpectedly, I just finished removing all the high rise bars from my bikes, including my downhill bike… Then got a new XC bike and I’ve ended up sticking a set of 40mm rise downhill bars on it. Didn’t expect that, it had a set of lowrise Havens waiting for it.

OP – Just choose the rise that will give you the right feel…

If you have a long-travel fork, you may want to lower it by using the 20mm and/or vice-versa with a short-travel fork and high-riser bar.

It’s a def’ a preference issue this one imo.

Low rise, get your weight over the front wheel for better grip….

Low. But it comes down to whatever is comfortable for you.
