    Anyone using these as an interim measure before upgrading to beefier bolt-through axles?
    Since the russ / fox case, there is that lingering doubt in the back of mind that the front QR is tight enough.

    I run the Halo Hex Skewers – nice and light, plenty of tension and solid axle (cheaper too).

    Why not. They are tighter, lighter and more theft proof. Always have a multitool on a ride anyway, so no more hassle that a QR.
