    Hi people.

I am trying to buy a graphics cards for my sisters PC, but i am a tad unsure what to go for.

The motherboard says it is PCI express, but the socket on the board looks like the one below –

If i ebay search or google search for a PCI Express card they all look like this –

Which to me, looks like it wont fit…
Can anybody tell me any different? Or let me know what will fit and whats good?

    Thanks
    Josh..

There are different versions of PCIe. The slot you're showing is PCIe 1x, the card needs PCIe 16x. I've yet to see a board with one that doesn't have the other, just look further down the board for longer slots.

From top to bottom; 4x, 16x, 1x, 16x (again), regular PCI.

    Addendum, I got the name backwards – it's x1, x16 etc.
