Really hope someone can help, I need to remove some stylo GXP cranks (the wonderful ones with the always falling off non driveside arm).

I’m down to just the drive side arm and axle that won’t come out of the BB, it was greased when it went in and a firm thwack with the hammer won’t budge it. Any tips, as getting a bit desperate, please please!

    Many thanks.

It sounds like the alloy sleeve washer the slots into the non drive side BB cup has seized onto the the crank axle. Had this a couple of times in the workshop now.
The last one I had to carefully remove with a hacksaw, took ages! Not sure if you can get replacement washers on their own so you may need to buy a new BB.

    Pics would be useful though.

had that problem too, both the falling off crank arm and the stuck BB, bike shop and new shimano hone crankset was the answer.

Try getting somebody to brace the frame firmly when you hit it, if the frame can move then you’ll lose most of the force applied.

Try unscrewing the non drive side BB cup out, this should pull it through.
