Ok after the MCR/BLKPL ride yesterday an incident occurred with wife in car versus bike on the floor………car won!

So I need a new bike for daily commute of 20 miles a day throughout the year with some bike events over the summer months.
I would like something that soaks up the urban part of my commute but that is faster that the bike that has just been killed, Cannondale Bad Boy.
And I have ( when the insurance arrives) about 1k.

All help gladly received.

Oh and I feel very sad at the death of a beloved companion so please be nice to me.

Cannondale road bikes are always badly spec’d but have good frames for the money at ~£1000.

For more ‘comfort’ maybe go for the new kaffenback when it arrives?

For more bling something cheep and plastic carbon.

I’ve an odd urge to buy one of those ragley road frames, despite me thinking they look pants, apprently they’re quite good.
