Poorly maintained road bike bites me in the arse again!
Front skewer is stuck fast in the Hope axle. Banged it out with a hammer and ended up with:

Any ideas how to get the bugger out?
Accepted the fact I’ll be trashing the skewer, but not the hub, please!

Nice poem, but what about the bearings?
    Cheap to replace I suppose…

I had a similar thing Dez, with a Shimano skewer into an old Hope ti-glide rear hub. The Hope skewers are slightly thinner in diameter than the Shimano, which is why the problem occurs. I put it in a vice and tapped the skewer out of the hub spindle. Rebuilt the hub and bought some Hope ti skewers (old type). Not had it happen since.

(Last reply was about the football btw!)

Yeah, this is a Hope XC Ti hub, so probably the same thing. Hammer has been used to no avail.
