    Hi folks

I have a wobbly rear wheel on my road bike. It's not buckled but if I tighten up the QR and release the brake I can grab the wheel and push and pull it towards either chainstay. Additionally – when I tighten the QR the wheel tends to get pushed to one side meaning the brake blocks rub. Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hub bearings loose / worn?

    What wheel?

It's an Alex Rims wheel ( I think ) – no idea about the hub at the mo.

Guessing it'll have cup & cone hub – have a look on the park tools site to see how to adjust

Sounds like either a loose axle or worn bearings to me.

Take the wheel out of the bike and holding each end of the axle give it a shake. If the axle is loose then you'll feel it quite readily. You can nip up the nuts on either end of the axle to account for bearing wear.
