    Can anyone tell me the size of the spanners I need to adjust front and rear cones on shimano hubs?

    It will depend on which hubs you have.

    15, 16 and 17 depends on which, cheaper models use 15+16 XTs use 17 and maybe an 18 somewhere IIRC.
