I treated myself to an early Christmas present and bought one of the Magura Thor's that On One were offering. Came to mount onto my bike and when I attached the brakes and tried to fit the wheel – clunk – clunk – clunk 🙁

Turns out the fork has a 180mm post mount already on it, whereas my Avid Juicy brakes have 185mm rotors – there isn't enough clearance.

What are my options? Thoughts so far:

    1) Adaptor up to 203 mm and use an old rotor (but can't find adaptor from 180mm)

    2) Buy new 180mm disc – but are there any other makes compatible with Juicy's?

    3) Shim out the adaptor by 2.5mm with some extra washers (favoured i.e. cheapest approach) but will this mess up the alignment?

    Any advice gratefully taken!

Avid brakes use washers anyway to space them out. I use the brake pad washers a lot and it works fine. In fact, my new bike even came with this set up.

Cheers, I'll give it a go with the washers first.
