I am replacing my stolen Hope vision 4 lights, I am not in a position to afford vision 4's again. Currently looking at vision 2 or is there something else I could consider around that price point?
Cheers

yep im looking at lights too i started another thread.... i was looking at the Luminite p7...is going to be 150 quid but its on sale at the mo for 79 quid. advertised in the recent MBUK mag..

elaine anne, on your other thread its already been pointed out its a £50 DX bike light, so not really the mega saving Luminite are making out. Brilliant unit by all accounts though.

mite as well go on using my caving light then... ! i have strapped it to my helmet..just that the battery pack is abit too heavy...well ya cant have everything can you ..lol

Elaine Anne.
Does the battery pack for your current light mount to the helmet ?, if so, would there be a way to fix-up an extension cable so that you could place the battery pack in a back-pack or jersey pocket, etc ?.
Just a thought.

Tigers won the big MBUK round up review.

re: the Lumitlite - I think it is a £50 DX light but you're dealing with a uk supplier, delivery times etc and to my mind that makes up the difference. You'd need to spend a lot more with a uk suppliuer to get the same light levels etc, I reckon.

Nuke Proof on CRC are worth a look, I reckon

the caving light i use at the mo has a 'petzl' strap attached to light... i use cable ties to strap it tight to helmet... just that the battery back is quite bulky at the back and heavy,,

nuke proof expensive !

Brilliant unit by all accounts though.
Yet it is referred to as the Bastid light.
"Horses for courses", if 50 quid is all you're going to spend on a light, then its got to be in with a shout.

Only in comparison to DX. £180 for 900lumens is pretty good http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=41025

oh no i am prepared to spend more on a light but not getting into rediculous money like the 300 quid mark !!! lol ....
mite look at newer caving lights...had mine for a about 4 years now, so if i can get a smaller battery pack then i mite opt for a caving lite...afterall they are very waterproof !!! never had a problem with my caving light with leakage and theres alot of water been dripped on it over the last couple of years.. so yeah smaller lighter battery pack wud be great..

I have been running Tiger Lights this winter (including last week in the snow) and I am very happy with them. They just won the best light in the MBUK awards.
Single Tiger is just over £240 now.
Fuel gauge is cracking, dead easy to use, massive battery life ...

Totally agree! I've got 3 lightsets that cos that in total. Even £250 seems unnecessary to me. (Unless I had money to burn of course
)

elaine, wwaswas has a point about the luminite, at least its UK supplied, so if you have the £79 then maybe its not such a bad deal, it will be miles and miles better than the pretzl your running. I just wanted to make you aware you can get the same for a bit less from DX thats all.
Karle it might also be right for you.
Very, very subjective all this light stuff innit!

SSC P7 led, 900 lumens.
On eBay for £79 incl p&p.I got one last week, really impressed with it, & it came with a uk plug.
The only thing not supplied was a way of attaching the battery to my frame, I used a Velcro strap I had lying around.Posted 2 years ago # -
Didn't I see the Hope vision 4 for 225 quid recently ?. Think it may have been CRC.
Resonable build and fair bit of light, I think. I know you refer to it in the OP, but prices may have come down now since you bought your original one.

Definately

Another +1 for Tigers, UK designed and made.

Tigers are more expensive than the Hope that the OP said he couldn't afford...

squishy, Only 2 months ago you were pushing your lights and yet now you have ceased making lights for / perusing the MTB market ?
