Components wise here is what i have got!

    Stans 355 rims on pro2s
    Fox talas 100-140mm
    Carbon FSA risers
    90mm Easton ea70 stem
    Avid Elixir brakes
    x9 mechs and shifters
    slx chainset
    Gobi saddle

All "lightish" stuff – what hardtail frame would they compliment? Certainly not 456 kit imo

What you gonna use it for?

Sounds like a nice set of components for a 456 or a Soul.

Cotic Soul? Blue Pig? Mmmbop? Good with that fork (perfect in fact). On-One Scandal still amazes me every time I drag it off the missus.

Dialled PA or a soul, have had both (still have the PA) both would work sweetly dressed in that kit.

Failing that a nice carbon frame like a Scott Scale if you want a more xc ish lightweight ride……

I LOVE my XCPro3 (as the whole of STW probably knows) but I guess the TALAS are overkill unless you limit to 120mm?

suppose my ideal bike would be a sould with a 30.9 seat tube and not a BFE as they are heavy!

Get a soul and get a different size seatpost? Seems strange picking a frame based on the seatpost size

So much choice, but I loved my Kona Explosif. Lovely frame. Good steel frames are superb.

That's good enough kit (very similar to mine) to warrant a decent, light frame.

    Cove Handjob or Stiffee?
    Kinesis Maxlight Pro 3?

If it were me I'd be looking at a Maxlight too. I'd have thought that 100mm would be limit though.

    carbon 456?

GWT – the new 725 Prince Albert is lighter than the one you probably had (520 version), but not by much.

If you want something considerably lighter, then you'll probably have to go ally or Ti. Cotic is Soul is probably the lightest steel long fork frame.

Whyte 19 alloy/steel/ti, as that would be worthy of a good build and is 30.9mm I'm sure on all 19's.

    Perfect Uk hardtail!

So I guess, you should make a ''umpteenth'' new thread on what metal to have in a frame 😆

Another happy Maxlight owner, although mine is an xc120/Pro 2. I would sell the talas, buy some 100/120 travel forks myself though – i Run with 100mm & its perfect

Only sad thing is now Halfords have the franchise, not sure if that effects them.
