    Hi all,

    Starting to do more running (on top of gym work). Pretty much always have my iPhone on me for music, listening with Sennheiser CX300IIs (standard ear bud phones) at the moment. Just holding iPhone when running, and in pocket or on ground at gym.

    So, 2 questions.

    1. Headphones. My Sennheisers occasionally fall out, especially when running and get sweaty, so would like something more suitable. Dont want something like these neck bang ones;

    (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SENNHEISER-PMX80-SPORT-II-IPHONE-MP3-HEADPHONES-ALL-MP3-/110641695103?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item19c2c2497f#ht_1696wt_1139)

    as I sometimes just have one ear in. So something with the hooks over the ears?
    Or how about something like these, would they stay in OK?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sennheiser-MX-70-VC-Sport-line-In-Ear-Earphones-NEW-/140492624644?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item20b6035304#ht_2570wt_1199

    Dont want to spend too much, ideally under £15, but want OK sound quality too.

    2. iPod pouch. See a lot of people with armbands for their iPods/phones, seems a good idea? Anyone on here use them, how do you rate them? Get sweaty/itchy after a while? Im guessing its dead awkward if you actually want to change song or anything while its on your arm? (I know, make a playlist before, but still…)
    And will the cheap ones be any good?

    Any help would be great 🙂

    I’ve sweated some Sennheiser Sport headphones to death, just replaced them with these:

    Hopefully being waterproof / washable should help.

    If you’re going running outside, ditch the iPod and enjoy the ambience.

    My wife has a cheap arm band very similar to that one and loves it. yes awkward to change songs but she says you get use to setting up playlists.
    I agree with ^ enjoy the ambience 🙂

    Yadda Yadda Yadda.

    I have the first ones you linked. They work well. Very light. Don’t really notice I’m wearing them.

    Don’t take an iPhone out with me though. I’d rather get mugged for my £20 iPod shuffle. One is probably a bit vulnerable enough when listening to music anyway.

    Got them from Tesco for about £12, and they’re pretty good.

    The one nice thing about the sennheiser orange and grey jobbies is that there is just one cable rather than two into one. Cables are a bit of an arse pain when running.

    Can’t say I notice a problem.

    I doubt very much you do. Meanwhile, an OP asked for a bit of advice.

    Hi Duane,
    I’ve got a pair of cx300’s and bough pmx80s to solve the problem you mention.
    Although the cx300s fall out occasionally, the pmx80s are just too tight for me and feel like someone is trying to ram the buds into my ears as hard as possible. I guess my head is just too big 🙂

    I used to have the same issue and whatever headphones I tried the started slipping out eventually with sweat. The other issue I had was I still wanted ones with a mic so I could use them handsfree if I wanted. I eventually wentveith some that hook over the eat but not ones with headband fittings. Bought them at an airport but they were only 20 quid. Perfect for running.

    I’ve used the sennheiser ones with the neckband. They lasted 6 months.
    I bought the technika ones with neckband. They lasted 6 months.

    These ones with the in-ear buds become affected by sweat and eventually stop working.

    Cheers for the info all.

    OK, kinda decided I’d like a volume control on the ‘phones as adjusting the volume on the iPhone is going to be tricky when its on your arm.

    Anyone know of any cheapish ‘phones with volume control? Only seen these;

    But not sure how well they’d stay in. Plus cant imagine sound quality is going to be great.

    Ta, Duane.

    I’ve got one of these :-

    Very comfy, very secure (wear it when bouncing over rocky trails) with good sound quality. Why bother with wires everywhere?

    These http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/denon-ah-c260r-black.html do all that you want, with the added benefit that they sound fantastic, and they have a right-angled plug, which reduces stress on the wire. I suggest that you wear them with the wire facing forward and up, so the wire loops up and back behind your ear. It takes a while for the cable to take a set curve, but it means if the cable gets tugged, there’s much less chance of a bud being yanked out of yer lug’ol! I never wear my phones any other way now. Another option, though a bit pricy, is to go to sensorcom.com and get some custom eartips made up. I had some made up for a pair of Etymotics, and I can guarantee that they will not fall out! It’s possible to make your own, which I’m about to have a go at, but no absolute guarantee of success, but they’ll only cost £10 as against £90…
