Bought a Hope Headset last week from 'snaps' (bazzz@fsmail.net).
He described it as VGC and pictured it, though not showing the crown race which is so battered it is catching the cup as it rotates. Also, the bearings are rough.
I've had one brief reply (' how unacceptable') to my 2nd email and now nothing.
What can I do?
Feel like should be able to send some local ST vigilante's round to get my money back.
Always a difficult one as there could be reasons why hes not replying. Also, there might not be. For something like that Id let it go and buy a new crown race, unless you paid more than average get it back through Paypal?
Seems trust is going on this site - quite a few bad sellers, but also a lot of folk quick to point the finger.
What's your side of the story snaps?
I've ridden with Snaps. He seems a really sound guy. I'm sure he'll be along to answer your mails or on here. If not there is probably a reason, so hang in there!
iv had a similar problem with another person-i bought some x9 shifters off him,so i sent them back-no refund?? i wont name him and shame him yet tho.......
cheers, I hope so. Just seems replies were fast when wanting to sell but not much since. Also, hard too believe this could be considered 'VGC', but if he gets back I'll remove my finger from the air publicly!

I checked my emails on Wednesday AM finding your 'its unacceptable' email (that you sent late Tuesday night) & replied to it straight away asking 'how is it unacceptable?' then Thursday AM I see two emails, the second as I said sent AFTER you decide to throw your toys out the pram on here.
The headset was described as VGC as the cups are superb & the crown race cannot be seen when installed, its not 'battered' yes it has marks from being removed from the forks, of course it has - its aluminium, but it works fine when installed & the bearings were fine when taken off the bike - I even cleaned & regreased them before sending.
The crown race can be replaced for a few quid, some people might consider them a consumable, I'd have offered to buy you one if you'd not had jumped the gun & started this thread.
People moan about bad sellers on here but some buyers have some unrealistic expectations.
hang on emails sent Mon 21.28, Tue 22.18, (reply Wed 7.24) Wed 8.12, this post started at Wed 22.00, so how do you work that out? You on here before you check your emails?
The bearings are NOT smooth and the crown race needs replacing you say. It looks like it been removed with a vice.
