Ive got a Genesis Altitude 853 in a 19'' frame which Ive got rid of because I hated the setup. Ive got £350 to spend on a decent Steel frame and in a 17'' size. Im 5' 11'' and found the genesis sluggish. I dont want a Cotic as a few mates have them already. Wanted a PA but none left. Any suggestions??

Oh and the forks I want to use are 130mm so want the frame to fit these. Is it asking to much on my budget?

456 off here.

if you felt the steel bike sluggish how about trying an aluminum frame. just an idea, steel is not for everyone. if not charge, sanderson, second hand orange all nice bikes.

Ragley Blue Pig or Inbred 456

DMR Trailstar?
456 is really hard to beat at that price.

I think ive decided on the geared inbred. Good choice?

What did you hate about the Genesis setup?

I just felt as if I was gunna break the damn thing. I also got it at the same time as a colleague, and then later found out that another colleague got one, so turned a bit gay. But in all honesty i struggled uphill, and it was probably a bit big? (19'', im 5' 11'')
In any case it just didnt feel right for me, though my work mates love theirsPosted 2 years ago # -
I'm 5-11 and this fits perfectly...

Bit over budget but worth it.
Edit, just read your second post... frame's designed for 100mm forks so please ignore.

So - it was too big, too flexy and not niche enough?
Maybe something like a Dialled Alpine or Cotic BFe would suit?

I am trying to sell a 16" Cove Hummer for £350 if you are interested.

too big, too flexy and not niche enough, not to mention homosexual and heavy.
I'm unclear that an Inbred is going to help with any of this except the sizing.

jim: all of the above, spoke to mike at dialled and the alpine is due end of september/begining of august. BD: I agree but as a stop gap until the alpine I thought inbred would be good - at least size wise. Thought about the BFe but prefered the Alpine
