bottom bracket thread is shafted!
anyone know of a place, or better still, have experience of a helicoil repair company local(ish) to leeds?

Botom bracket I doubt you can get a helicoil. I think you need an insert fitted if the thread is buggered – try a frame repairer – argos perhaps?

BETD stainless steel heli-coil service – I’m in the same boat, mines just gone properly this weekend (no thread left on either the BB or the external cup). Hoping it’ll be ok with some Betd fettling
