Never used before but been advised to add some on new carbon road bike. Should I use it? if so where? Also what brand do people recommend? Is BikeArmour heli tape any good?

A few small patches on cable rub points should do it, unless you are like me and need to put some on the chainstays/seatstays to avoid heel rub.

Mine are all basically laminated. Partly I like protecting the frame, mainly I just find it incredibly satistfying taping up a brand new frame.

I recently got some from Paragon tapes on ebay.Better than some other tapes I`ve tried.

I tend to tape up the cable rub points and chainstays.

I’ve probably doubled the weight of my Bike with tape. I got it from Convertape on eBay, probably a bit cheaper buying it direct from them. It went on a treat and the use of a hair dryer helped with curves etc. Another tip from experience, do go over the frame with degreaser as an inevitable greasy paw print will stop it sticking, also cut the tape with curved corners as square corners will catch and peel.
