Out around Calderdale way tomorrow and after a change to my usual routes so wondered if down back towards old town from old Brown knoll had dried out well enough to make it a viable option? If anybody’s been down there recently I would appreciate the feedback.

    Cheers.

Not been up there recently but everything else around Calderdale is dry and and dusty so it’ll probably be fine.

yep, it’s mostly OK, was up there at the weekend, bit squidgy in places but it’s a go-er.

Not been up since it last froze, but everything else here is baked and running as well as it ever does. Right now is probably one of the best chances you’ll get for a while.

Nearly dry enough around here to run 2.8 Trailblazers.

Raining doesn’t cover it. Been wet most of the morning pissed it down from the point we left the car. After an hour or so of heavy rain we decided against Brown knoll and just dropped down pecket well back up to house of shit and around gorple back down. Driving 40+ wind carrying freezing rain all the way up from Harecastle crags to gorple. Glad to turn and drop back down to hebden again. Typically once back to the cars the wind and rain stopped.

Just a note as we didn’t know H
the road up from Shaw wood upto the stodgy bridle way is shut due to landslip. There was apparently no way through.

You were lucky to get a nice day. Usually the weather is bad up here 😉
