Stopping in Hebden Bridge for the morning on Friday with the good lady and son, ridden through loads of times but never stopped – any recommendations for a decent mid morning breakfast place?
Better than greasy spoon level – but full cooked essential.

Hmm, I go to the Cabin just opposite the Picture House.
It’s a proper caff, not exactly a greasy spoon, but the food is very nice.

I’m sure any other of the fine establishments that trade as cafes in Hebden will fry you a mung bean, if you ask them nicely.

I asked this very question on here weirdly, about 6 months ago. I was recommended some converted trendy wine bar type place.

I was not disappointed, best cooked brekkie I’ve ever had – bit pricier than normal, but well worth it. I’ll trawl my previous posts to find it!

    EDIT: Old Gate.

Belting, two good options there. Think the good lady will like the old gate option looking at their website, but I will check the cabin on the way past. Cheers both

Old gate is the only option. Hope you’re hungry!

Old Gate or Mooch. Or the Deli.

Cheers Andy, never found a breakfast I can’t finish. Many have meant forgoing lunch and tea though!

My experience is that it wasn’t massive; but enough to fill. Walked away feeling content, but not bloated with meat-sweats.

Plus, first time I’ve ever eaten black pudding – and enjoyed it. That must be a compliment in itself!

Definitely not the owner – just a happy customer.

My favourite is The Deli, though admittedly I’ve not tried the Old Gate’s breakfast – find the place a bit soulless in general though.

Well that was a success. Went to the old gate and had an absolutely fantastic breakfast, wife and my lad agreed best we’ve ever had and we have them a lot. Thanks for the recommendation.

Indeed. So dull, we sometimes resort to riding bikes in the bar area.

Thought I’d better try the breakfast at Old Gate after all the rave reviews on here – it was very good. Won’t be my regular spot at £8 a pop plus drinks but I was impressed with it.
