    Whereas sassenach is frequently used on this site by men in skirts.

    It’s actually not an English distinction, it’s a Gaelic derivation of Saxon, meant to describe a non Gaelic speaking lowland Scot, but it’s moved on over time.

    Anyway, this thread has been derailed from a potentially decent discussion, into a festival for the permanently offended, and exposing a bit of a fool. Shame.
