As per the title, really. Is anyone importing KS seatposts these days?

Edit: And/or is anyone else offering dropper posts with 150mm of travel?

Aye, Jungle snapped them up, think they’re expecting to start actually distributing shortly.

Stif have them on their website to pre-order. Quite a bit more pricey than the south koreans, americans or germans though.

Makes you laugh, they pump out over-priced Santa Cruz etc etc yet people still keep paying the prices.

Same with Thomson’s new post. Mountain bikers are muggings.

    OK, thanks!

What benefits does the Lev provide over the Supernatural other than it’s cable doesn’t attach to the seatpost head? On its own that doesn’t seem like a huge benefit given the extra £110 involved.

Jesus, these were just over £130-200 max. People slag off Supestar but at least he didn’t blatantly profiteer.

I’ve got the original / supernatural…the clamp is made of cheese, it’s a bugger to adjust the tilt and is prone to slipping…because it’s made of cheese. It’s a hateful POS, so it is. The clamp. The rest of the post is fine.

Old Fruity boy was selling the Lev 125mm for 325 quid according to the way back machine, or 240 for the 6″ Supernatural. Both are more than Stif have them on their site for. So maybe he was blatantly profiteering…

… before he rolled them out at half price, presumably because he just wanted rid.

I have a couple of i900Rs. I had to send the top bit of one of the clamps back because it had deformed and it was replaced for free. Other than that I haven’t had any problems with the clamps that I can recall. The Supernatural however does have a slightly different clamp, though it looks faffier than the i900/Dropzone’s.

Just another classic Hora moment of offering an opinion on his specialist subject of not having a clue 😆

To be fair I’m pretty sure I paid less than 200 quid for each of my i900Rs, but then I got them from Moose Cycles rather than direct from Superstar.

The i950’s clamp is different from the i900, and horrible in different ways. It is weird that they manage to do all the complicated stuff so well then screw up the bit that should have been simple.

Chris, Malcolm and Peter have Levs, they seem a bit better than the old ones but not better enough to me.

What are the issues with the Lev as you see it Northwind?

I’m considering one as I really need 150 drop and don’t have internal cable routing.

Yep I can confirm Jungle are new distributors, I’ve been speaking to them about it. They already have some spares in stock and should have posts sometime soon.

Oh, none that I know of but ChrisL is already seatposted up to the max so hard to see the point in upgrading for the change in cabling. It’s fundamentally a very similiar post to the old ones otherwise, which is good as they’re really nice kit.

I was wondering about getting a 150mm drop post for my Mojo, as I do seem to notice the extra 25mm on the Anthem’s in comparison to the Mojo’s current post. I can get a 150mm drop from a Supernatural or from a Lev, and was wondering what the Lev provides that the Supernatural doesn’t.

I had also remembered that a couple of mates have Levs, but I also remembered that they’d both broken them, so wasn’t sure what that told me. 🙂

Kenneth did some complicated user-error thing to his and broke the internal string. Peter, I never did work out how it happened but the post had scratches on the back as if it was somehow twisting, even though the KS design makes that pretty much impossible. Mysterious.

Replacing the internal string doesn’t look like an insurmountable task. If this is how they tend to go I could probably live with it.

    @Winch

You would think so, my internal string snapped, easy i thought. However the lower actuator was seized on, meaning that i couldn’t remove the shaft to replace the string.

Whole thing had to be sent back, I eventually got a refund.

what exactly is wrong with the clamp?
Admittedly the i900 clamp was a bit Cottage Cheesy but the i950 is harder than Parmesan. It performs the task of holding onto my saddle flawlessly.

Buzz – sound like a whole heap of trouble, maybe you were just unlucky though. If I didn’t need 150mm drop I’d certainly put up with a loopy cable reverb and save a whole wedge of cash.

Thomson dropper is performing manfully so for for me.

In another month I’ll post a smug rider-review and you peasants can all march me off the the guillotine.

    😉
