As above, went to Morzine last year and it was brilliant, however I am a firm believer of trying something different whenever possible and a friend pointed me in the direction of this place.
Anyone been there? if so comments please as i'm thinking of booking it for next september.

Never been to Morzine, but but been to Sierra Nevada loads with Ciclo Montana, I love it. I'll be back again at Easter.
If I could choose my favourite time of year to go, it would be late September.
Sierra Nevada pisses on Morzine, quieter, better trails, more sun. The trails are much more natural as well, way more fun to ride. Check out switchbacks.com

(not really much in the way of chairlifts, you'll need a man with a van. i went with switchbacks, other guiding/vanning companies are available)
March is nice, a little chilly in the shade perhaps, but snow on top of the mountains makes it look amazing. i wouldn't want to go in July/August.
They are both excellent. The weather is pretty variable in both places IME. No lifts in Spain so the riding tends to be a bit more effort/epic. Van up then ride up and down until lunch rather than lots of lifts and bombing down in Morzine.
The riding in SN is very different from the Alps.
I was talking to Michael from switchbacks the other day as to what people expect and he said that some people come to Spain with the expectation that there would be the full on high speed descents that there are in the alps, but the reality is that the trails are natural and you need real bike handling skills to ride a lot of it with grace.
Not to say that noobs wouldn't benefit from going, but I feel that a lot of the more experienced bikers keep coming back to Spain because of the challenge of riding something that wasn't specifically made for skis/bikes. Added to that, there are not throngs of people here. Maybe people like the 'bike tribe' element of being in the Alps? I just like riding my bike.
Sierra Nevada's are ace......Go out there to our 'shack in the hills' 4 or 5 times a year. Flights are cheap and you don't need a guide, just explore..... Never been to Morzine but can highly recommend The Nevada's.

Been to Morzine numerous times and sierra nevada 7 times with Switch backs and love the place and riding, much prefer it to morzine/les gets, night life around Bubion isnt as good as morzine/les gets but the trails more than make up for that.
Can totally recommend swithbacks for a cracking weeks riding.
Totally different riding. To generalise massively:
Morzine is generally fast and flowy and braking bumps and roots and uplifts and that.
Sierra Nevada is rocky and tight and twisty and tech where you pedal up and rattle down. Good for the skillz, definitely.

So is the concensus of opinion here saying that you actually need little/no skill to ride in the Alpes ? Iv'e rode in Spain and Alpes too and I feel sure that you really have to be on your metal(at times)in both these places, I try to alternate between the two areas each summer but I will be in the Alpes this year again, not all trail heads are available at the lift terminus and I don't mind putting the effort in for a worth while tricky 4 or 5 mile decent. Roll on July/Aug. I hope we all have fun, whatever the venue.
