I figured there may be some folk on here who can advise so here goes. Since re-fitting our ensuite a year ago I’ve noticed a build up of scaly dust on the bathroom fittings like the chrome towel radiator and other hooks and poles, it also settle on things like the toilet cistern and won’t simply wipe off. It’s worst on the shower cubicle and shower itself as you’d expect. I’m in Staffordshire and believe the water is classed as hard.

The old shower cubicle had this on it but was white rather than silver so it was less apparent plus it was almost 10 years old being the original one so I diem’t think much of the scummy looks.

Is this limescale being circulated around the room in water vapour from the shower and settling and if so would something along the lines of a water softener help or are there supernatural powers at work?

Spray (bathroom) weekly with Viakal and ask yourself why your water is harder than you.
