So after selling my 29’er XC HT and deciding that I wanted something a little more less race orientated for larking about and general riding, I thought you know what a fat bike would be nice.

Mboy of these parts had this on offer at his shop and I picked it up today.

It’s a KTM Fat Rat, comes with the RS Bluto , SRAM X9 2×10 that’ll be going 1x in the morning with a 28t front and 11-40 out back and I’ll get the tyres up tubeless.

    Can’t wait to ride it.

Tht loosk great – lthough I’ll never understand why bike companies choose to draw attention to cables by makign them bright colours. 1x will sort half of it, I guess

That’s the rubbish one that the kids play on, the other is far more lush.

A man who has three lawns can surely afford a 598 and a Fat Adapter kit? (598 is awsome, by the way)

I could, but I’ve just got the 565 for t’other sled wit’ boost fork.

Wonder if the adapter fits the 565

Thats a terrible gap in the flooring by the front wheel, you need DD’s advice.

Nice looking bike though. Are you riding the Bonty 24/12? Just interested to know if it’ll be there…

Ah yes. 565 is a fork mount. Forgot that.

The 598, as reviewed here, http://road.cc/content/review/195134-thule-proride-598 , will fit pretty much anything.

I know, rubbish ain’t it. It’ll be replaced by a new wing soon anyway.

I’m not I’m afraid, wife is due 1st week in August so it’s a bit far from home given the situation.

Most mail order companies will give you an option of the day you want your bride delivered.

    Oh…sorry…..I see.

Here’s a few snaps of the finished job, now running 1×10 with 28t Steel x-Sync ring & 40t One-Up expander and the rims are taped ready to go tubeless.
