There are some deals around on Gore Phantom jackets – windproof softshell that will be fine in a shower or drizzle but seams not taped so not waterproof.

Sleeves can be removed if it warms up – I got one recently and it’s been great – very breathable

I like my Montane Velocity, will buy another when I need to. 2yrs old and used in all weathers, only jacket I have.

Light, breathable and pretty much showerproof in anything up to a fairly heavy downpour. Am wearing another waterproof layer on top for the heavy stuff.
