Is it possible to convert a GXP set up to Shimano ? I have an El Mariachi SS which runs unbranded cranks but it’s a GXP BB I have just upgraded another bike which has left me with a set of XTR 985 cranks that won’t fit any other bike I have so I was thinking of taking these down to one ring & slapping them in the El Mariachi but need to run a Shimano BB, is this possible ?
    cheers

Yes. Just fit a shimano bb.

GXP has a stepped axle, so shimano cranks won’t fit. You can do it the other way round (sram cranks in a shimano bb)

So there’s no difference in the threads of GXP/Shimano external BB’s it’s just the angle on the cups ?

threads are the same, shimano has a 24mm axle, sram gxp is 24/22.
