  • Gxp bb with Sram crank problem?

My mate has been building up a parkwood and we both noticed tonight whilst trying to adjust the gears (dont know how we didnt notice it before) that the Sram crank doesnt fully sit in the GXP bb and it seems as though the crank arm has a very slight lip about half inch out from cogs which is preventing it from sitting flush against the cogs.

We originally got this bb from the lbs where they saw the bike and advised to get the gxp but i cant see how this would fit.

My mate is going back to the lbs tomorrow but i just wondered if anyone could advise which bb we actually did need?

So is the bb correct and are we missing a washer between the bb and the cogs?

Nope. There is always a bit of axle showing.Unless you put a spacer on the drive side (it won’t affect the chainline).

So should the bb butt right up to the shim/compression washer thing and thats all that should be showing, just seems a lot none of the compression washer wanted to go into the bb with ease
