Will this work? Can I use a standard boost crankset with 11speed shimano chainring? What other chainring could I use if this doesn’t work? I had heard they where compatible…

Ive used a 12 speed chain on 11 speed drive by accident and didn’t even notice until I went to change it…

So long as the chain line is right for 1x,ran my old 10sp sram cranks with the new gx with no issues.

I have GX eagle with a M785 double fitted with an absolute black oval ring. Fine for me. It’s not boost but as long as the chainline is fine it should be ok.

It will ‘work’ but may not have quite such good chain retention as the full set with intended chain and chainring. It’s quite a tooth on the Eagle rings.

That said, you may not notice a problem…
