When asked what the plate and bolts are for I got this reply
The upper crown of marzocchi are usually much wider like boxer forks and love the effect it gives therefore the titanium plate let’s it have a wider angle
I can’t think what reason anyone would have to do that… fatbike mod?
Somewhere on the listing he mentions Manitou – being that that bridge doesn’t have the ‘M’ of a Marz bridge I’m going to say the following thought process happened…
“Oh shit, I’ve destroyed the lowers on my Marz forks”
“but it’s okay, because I have a set of Manitou lowers in the shed”
A: A really clever way to save weight
B: A indication that he made more than one attempt at bolting the fork together
C: A way of guaranteeing the lowers will fail catastrophically
Hypothetical question; what if someone with no knowledge of bikes or forks bought them and seriously injured themselves?
Considering that the seller is stating that they’re original and safe, and suitable for freeride; could he be liable?
apart from my first impression of WT actual F, where did the ‘zocchi thing even come from?
Those stantions looks like Manitou (they’ve got ‘Hayes’ etched into the top of them) and the sliders are reverse arch like Manitou so what part of them are actually Marzocchi?
And if they’re both Manitou why is there such a big gap???

The Hayes thing is a sticker. You can see the edge in one of the pics. Bodes well when everything else looks so pro.
