Might pick up one of these for a project…

Could anyone tell me what the headtube length is for the Medium model? My steerer is quite short 🙁

got an STS1000 frame in the shed, I guess its about the same headtube length.

    I’ll go measure it in a mo…

If you wanted an STS as a project…!

Cheers. Bit too long. In fact, the only reason I bought my 16″ 456 was because of the diminutive 90mm headtube!

mine was a 19 or 21 inch iirc. the spring they put on it was so hard i dont belive i ever got it to move.

it had elstomer indys, which also never moved.

basically it was a very heavy locked out thing.

strange, but i was young… and buying different springs and whatnot to suit your weight wasn’t big in those days.

i had a DH LTS, might still be at my folks. i thought it rode really nice. but i had to run the seat pretty high or else the shock hit the saddle rails! plus the top shock mount was made from cheese, which meant it needed replaced a lot. but you couldn’t remove it over the shock head as the shock head was too big! had to file off the edges…

my top mount was made of cheese too, but in the lts2 wasn’t removable, and the bolt just ended up eating through the top swing link.

    awesome!
