    Looking at getting a deal on a “last year’s model” adventure-type bike at around £1k with full hydro brakes and ideally 1x setup. These 2 are the stand-outs at the mo, but undecided about either… not sure about the whole triple triangle thing, but the Grade seems well reviewed… as does the Marin…

    I’d change the cassette on the Grade to 11-36 from the outset.

    Any rider experiences / pearls of wisdom? I ride an Arkose at the mo, but the 2017 4 is more expensive than these 2 at present…

    Having looked at a GT grade in the flesh I was suprised howtight the tyre clearance was on the Chain stays

    Cheers Ampthill. I think the Marin is also fairly tight compared with the Arkose… but I don’t tend to ride in mud much…

    I’ve got an alloy grade and think its great apart from no mounts for a rack and max tyre clearance of 35mm. Currently running 32mm with guards OK though.I would buy it again.
