  • GT Grade – biggest tyres?

I’ve just bought a used GT Grade it’s currently on 28c tyres and after my first foray off tarmac today I think I’d like some more voluminous rubber.

So the question is what are the biggest tyres I can use on GT Grade and what tyres would you recommend? It’ll be mainly used on the road so slick or semi slick are what I’m thinking.
    Oh, and it’s a 2015 Grade I think.

I’ve fitted some Schwalbe Smart Sam 700×35 cross tyres on my carbon grade and it’s pretty tight – don’t think it’d take a 40 without rubbing the fork and chainstay.

I run 32’s with guards. I think 35’s is the biggest people manage, have seem 38’s but depends on rims

I’ve got Vittoria voyagers 35mm fitted with some SKS guards – not a lot of room for anything much bigger

Not used the vittoria voyagers but people seem to love them and they are cheap from planet x

My other half says on the carbon model, 35. Having had to have a replacement following a bigger tyre/chainstay interface disaster…

Thanks everyone, looks like 35 is the number.

They are only 28mm, but £50 for a pair of Schwalbe Ones is a great price. 😉
