Teen2 steadfastly refuses to stop growing. Whilst this is great for stature, it is not so great for bike fit.

Currently he rides an XS Giant Avail 2 and an XS Giant Talon 1W. Both excellent bikes, and (were) perfectly sized for him. Sadly he’s grown about two inches this year and is now too small for both.

Options:

1) replace seatposts and stems and make do until he grows to fit Medium frames (Teen1’s, for example!).
2) Replace frames for Small equivalent – he would like an Anthem.
3) Sell bike and replace with Small or Medium and make do with too big.

Anyone have any experience of missing a size? He’ll make it to a medium, possibly taller, eventually, but I want him to fit now. What is the longest seatpost you’ve run in a HT, and what’s available in Giant 30.9 diameter?

And is anyone interested in a very nice XS HT 26″? Only 18 months old and excellent condition (I’ll probably keep the Avail for a friend).
