Its all in the prep, and pre spraying with anything that compromises the adhesion between silicon and your tub/tile isn’t ideal.
…Silicon wont stick to itself either so you have to mechanically remove all traces of old silicon.
I’d suggest mechanical removal, clean up and giving it plenty of time to dry. Water will also compromise the bond so its got to be plenty dry. Grout isn’t waterproof so wet grout will also evaporate its absorbed water as vapor. Once clean and dry, Isopropol or methyl hydrate are a good final prep. They evaporate without leaving residue.
The other issue is if you are relying on the silicon to bridge flexible gaps or work as a mechanical bond. Any movement between tub/tile will make short work of your silicon, make the bong fail, allow water organic material (soap/skin) in behind the silicon and it will start to allow mould growth under the silicon.
Basically, if your silicone install fails, you’ll get mould. A well prepped and well applied silicon job should last well, as long as you keep your tub/tile clean. Mould feeds off organic matter, so if you bathroom is a scummy mess.. you’ll get mould.
Also bear in mind that bleach doesn’t actually kill mould. You need a fungicide for that. There are non-toxic products like http://www.concrobium.com/ that do a great job!
While bleach does do a great job at brightening things up, sadly chlorine bleach is some nasty sh*t and really has no place to be used in the home.
