Hi all, off to greystoke for a week with the family and father in law. Hoping to get a few mtb rides in and wondered if anyone had any suggestions around 2-3hrs?

Have seen Keswick to greystoke route but says 15miles and poss 5 hours? Don’t think the mrs will pass this one. Might head to Whinlatter for a lazy route.

Will take road bike too as will be easy to get out for a few hours on that.

    Thanks

Just been up to the lakes and did the Borrowdale Bash but instead of using the road to Watendlath, the wife and I rode up to Walla Crag from Keswick and over the tops to Ashness Bridge and then picked up the route… Cracking ride but a bit boggy on the tops.

Another decent route is to ride out on the Threlkeld Loop – you should cover this in about 2 hours but it could be busy on the descent back into Keswick depending on the weather. This is a good one for the wet days.

Threlkeld loop looks good and doable. Ok to tackle alone you reckon? Pretty hard pack?

Did the Threlkeld loop, was great mornings ride away from the family for a few hours. The rocks on the second valley wall were crackers slippy and got a little confused coming back down to Keswick,
