Not enough indie riffage suggested so far…

For indie riffage of that ilk, pretty much anything by Dinosaur Jr.

Indie riff for me goes to British Sea Power – ‘Machineries of Joy’

It’s a wistful hook/refrain (riff-rain?), gets in my head with an irresistible and perfect motorik beat that goes on and on. And it’s about cycling.

Also, Crazy Train. But is it the intro riff, or the second intro riff, or the main choo choo train riff?

Take your pick from Black Sabbath.

I’ll go for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or maybe Supernaut or how about St Vitus Dance.

(Riff Raff for everyone lucky enough not to know this. Perhaps not.)

Some of the above definitely don’t have distinctive riffs. Like a Hurricane? No real riff. Now if you’d said Hey Hey My My….
