i do like the start of can i play with madness the way they break in but run to the hills is my favorite.

Even better on their live at donnington album for lack of anything better than an MP3 of their studio copy.

infact that albums probably more hated by my neighbours than the sound of my 2 stroke mower 😀

Uh, unless you’re 15 and hormonally angry you have no business with the Maiden. 😉

Hallowed be thy Name….but go real old school (pre Bruce Dickinson) and listen to Murders on the Rue Morgue.

I’m 33 and hormonally angry, does that count?

And yes, it is Hallowed be thy Name…

Although Aces High the live version Fear of the Dark on Live After Death push it damn close.

During my bike shop days I had a guy come in an old Maiden tour shirt, got talking to him, turned out he was Steve Harris’s touring Bass tech for 15 years, his resume was a who’s who of 80’s and 90’s rock but he still said they were the 2nd nicest guys he’d ever worked for.

The nicest? – Ronnie James Dio, a true gentleman in every way if this chap was to be believed.

The biggest knobber? – Jon Bon Jovi, a flaming diva and almost universally despised by the entire crew.

Take from that what you will.

Some nice choices there but most, nay ALL of of you need to have a sit down in a quiet corner and a good think about what you just did. There’s only one choice, really

    Woe to you
    O Earth And Sea
For the devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short

Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
for it is a human number
it’s number is six hundred and sixty six

Hallowed be thy name is right up there but….

It’s not the fear of whats beyond,
It’s just that I might not respond.
You tell me your an unbeliever, spiritualist,
    well me I’m neither.

However with the exception of the last two albums,I struggle to find a Maiden album I don’t love 4/5 songs from. Tonight’s drive home will be accompanied by the first album

IIRC, it was hearing Powerslave that convinced Bruce – while supporting Maiden – to jump into the band once the chance was there.

Anyway, here’s an alternative; Wrathchild instrumental by Buckethead…

    All of them 🙂

All their albums contain a gem or two at the very least imo.

Rather than pick one, I’ll pick one per studio album – done from memory so bear with me if I’ve got one wrong
    Phantom
    Killers
    Hallowed
    Where Eagles Dare
    ROTAM
    Wasted Years
    Infinite Dreams

im afraid they peaked with the first album and paul di’anno. f00kin great album and was one of the only ‘non-punk’ albums (along with motorhead) i liked as spiky young credit to society.

phantom of the opera is the correct answer.

This is the correct answer. And must be the live version. That is important.
