Watch Moon flailing away in the background and Entwhistels fingers flying. Brilliant.

[edit] and turn the volume right up from about 6:40.

Who says wimminz can’t play the harmonica? Big Mama sure can and there’s some really sizzling sax playing too.

    Rory Gallagher

We saw the tribute band Sinnerboy recently, even with a crowd of 20 it was still an awesome night.

And the whole of the AC/DC Live at River Plate, but mainly because of the batshit audience jumping non-stop for the entire performance.

My wife is out tonight so it’s football followed by that particular DVD I reckon.

I don’t know how many times I saw the film Woodstock! The 70’s were bloomin’ brilliant for music.

Didn’t know there was a Rory tribute band and hope they recreated the energy in his performances. 🙂

I seem to be a sucker for bands that had a brief, magnificent heyday, then hung around for too long delivering ever diminishing returns, on which note, here’s some heyday:

Among everything else they did, it’s easy to forget how hard these guys could rock…

Surprised me when I saw the posters, was suspicious until I went to the gig, they were brilliant, guitars tuned to perfection so they sounded like R.G. before they even started playing.

I liked the fact that they even asked which version of Million Miles Away we wanted to hear, probably weren’t surprised when my shout of ‘Irish Tour!’ was taken up by everybody else in the audience* 8)

*all twenty of them, Edinburgh obviously isn’t a big Gallagher town 🙁

I have no idea how to post up YouTube footage, but as far as live albums go here’s my tenpeneth worth:
    Deep Purple Made in Japan
    UFO Strangers in the night
    Thin Lizzy Live & dangerous
    Neil Young Live rust
    Free Live!
    ACDC if you want blood
and yes I was a teenager in the 70’s

Some great ones here, notably Maiden and Queen.

Thunder at Donnington in ’90 was a bit special. Opened the show. Left everyone else feeling very flat trying to follow up!

I’ve seen a few of the bands named above live, and listened to plenty of those gigs as recorded, but I’ve got to say that the first one listed, Fleetwood Mac, was the biggest disappointment of them all. Supported by Jethro Tull and Hall and Oates, Fleetwood Mac at Wembley in about 1990 were technically excellent but absolutely soul-less. I remember them for being absolutely uncharismatic. (Hall and Oates were so cheesy it was embarrassing, btw!).

Peter Green though, a few years later in a small sports hall here in Swansea, was excellent.

To all the posters linking to Queen – bear in mind that Freddie based his stage performance on Hitler or Mussolini. Think of that and try to watch him now…. 😆

Freddie had all of Wembley in the palm of his hand. What a voice a true legend!

Thin Lizzy, Cold Sweat, live in Dublin pub, This is as close as I can get to when they played Live on a program called OTT which is still clear in my mind after one viewing many years ago.
