Whilst browsing through the internet looking for solutions to a rear wheel creak I come across a number of recommendations for greasing dropouts. It was suggested that greasing quick release dropouts on both sides was a good idea. It strikes me a slightly counter-intuitive to grease something that you want to say put (at least where it isn’t likely to gall); do people grease their dropouts?

Not my qr’s as they need all the help they can get. But my bolt throughs and 12mm rws setups yeah… Always apply a tiny dab of copper slip to the caps and spacers both sides of the drop outs. Some of the most annoying clicks/creaks I have tried to solve have been traced back to the Axle/cap/dropout interface.
